From the Breathtaking Performances to the Comedy Skit at “SUPER JUNIOR – SUPER SHOW 9: ROAD in JAKARTA”

The sapphire blue ocean filled up Hall 5-6 ICE, BSD City on 17 September 2022 at 2 PM for ‘SUPER JUNIOR – SUPER SHOW 9: ROAD in JAKARTA’. “Song for You’’ was played along with E.L.F. singing the lyrics and the lightstick synced to the song, warming up before the show began.

The tension rose when Super Junior appeared on the stage with “Burn the Floor’’. With hands wrapped around in the red rope to the lights on their hands, the group officially opened the concert with the most beautiful performance.

As the first song ended, the robe costume dramatically came down to Eun Hyuk. With a special performance by the dancing machine as the intro, all members transform into a King and continue to heat the atmosphere with “The Crown”, “SUPER” and “Mr. Simple (remix version)”. The next stage was in all black with a glittery outfit, they flexed the strong vocal, powerful dance, and all-out stage prop. An excellent stage performance wowed fans throughout “Ticky Tocky”, “Paradox”, and “Mystery”. Indeed, the Super Show stage presence has always been amazing!

The sub-unit consists of three main vocalists, Super Junior K.R.Y. started to change the mood of the concert and serenade us with their outstanding vocals in the ballad song “I Can’t”. After that, the rest of the members joined them and sang “Believe”, a song from their debut album “Super Junior 05 (TWINS)” which was released in 2005. Taking us back to the old time, the song beautifully echoed as the fans sang along wholeheartedly.

One of the highlights of Super Junior’s concert is how they turned the concert stage into a comedy skit. The fans burst into laughter watching the skit of the member’s parody as the ‘God of Music’ on VCR. With Super Junior, we found out that the concert stage has become a multipurpose show as they switched the concert into a musical stage. The members made the appearance like they were on VCR and sang “SPY”, “Rokkugo”, and “Mamacita” in the musical version. While Super Junior successfully delivers magnificent vocals in the comedy concept, the fans also work harder as they hold the laughter and harmonize with the group obediently. This gives us a fresh experience in K-pop concert!

Needless to say, we can’t miss the chance to have fun with the members after a long pandemic. In blue denim, the members freely run around the stage to enjoy the moment with the fans all together hyping up “Everyday”, “Wonder Boy”, and “Let’s Dance”.

The best combo Super Junior-D&E sparks their charm in all-black and steals the fans’ hearts through “B.A.D” and “Danger”. The loud screaming continued when other members came up to the stage and transformed into a rockstar by performing “Black Suit”, “Sorry, Sorry” and “Bonamana (rock version)”.

Like to conclude the happy moments during the concert, “Happiness” officially closed the 3.5 hours concert with all members compactly singing the song while walking around the stage to greet the fans. Wearing a self-handwritten t-shirt, the members thanked fans for sparing the time for coming to their concert.

A super show with the super effort to bring a new experience on every stage for fans, we thank Super Junior for always giving us a breathtaking performances and obviously entertaining throughout the concert. Just like the Oppas said, we also can’t wait to welcome them back more often here in Indonesia!
