First Concert After Pandemic, Being Local, and Sweet Gift for Fans in “THE BOYZ WORLD TOUR: THE B-ZONE IN JAKARTA”

The Monday evening of Tennis Indoor Senayan was filled with THE B who come to finally see their boys. THE BOYZ head back to Jakarta as part of their World Tour series, THE BOYZ WORLD TOUR: THE B-ZONE IN JAKARTA.

The concert started at 7.00 PM WIB with a VCR and members showing up on stage with the first song, ‘Maverick’. The stunning appearance of 11 men in black outfits immediately made the whole hall scream and continue heating the atmosphere with ‘The Stealer’, a song that won 5 trophies on Korean music shows. After stealing fans’ hearts with their opening performances, THE BOYZ began to greet THE B and express their longing to the fans. Started with Kevin who greeted in Bahasa Indonesia,

“Apa kalian sudah siap semuanya? Coba dong aku mau dengar suara kalian (T/N: Are you guys
ready? I want to hear your voices).”

The leader of the group, Sangyeon, shocked fans by saying, “Happy Eid Al-Adha*”. This group is also considered to be more ‘local’ as they eat Indonesian street food martabak, emping, and vlive with an echoing takbiran sound.

The performance continue with ‘Merry Bad Ending’ and ‘Checkmate’ on the extended stage. Adding to the hysteria of the fans, they sang ‘Wishplash’ in a white outfit and jeans. They also also visited fans from the right and left sides of the stage while singing the song dancing ‘Till We Drop’.

Giving their all at the performances, the members continue to have a chit-chat with THE B in turn. Kevin and Sangyeon asked about THE B’s impression of their concert, meanwhile New said they will try to come
more often to Jakarta in the future. In addition, Sangyeon shared stories about his experience trying Indonesian food, Nasi Goreng. Even though it’s not the first time he tried the food, for him the Indonesian fried rice is MANTUL (T/N: Indonesian slang of So Great).

Sunwoo said that when he was backstage, he could hear THE B shouting for them to sing ‘Salty’. The lead vocalist, Jacob, shared he had studied Indonesian song, ‘Dari Mata’. Unbeknownst to other members, Jacob had learned this song when he was backstage. The members also praised Jacob’s ability to sing this Indonesian song.

The concert left good memories as Kevin gave a new nickname for Indonesian THE B, Deobina, which comes from ‘Deobi’ (T/N: how Koreans pronounce THE B) and ‘Bitna (Korean word means shining)’. So, Deobina means Indonesian THE Bs are shining. How sweet Kevin is!

Without further ado, the other members said that they were almost at the end of the concert. Each member gave their final greeting to Indonesian THE B. As one member, Eric, could not participate in the world tour due to a health issue, the members expressed their wish to return with all members.

As the night was coming to an end, THE BOYZ wrap up the concert photo time, bowed to the fans who were coming, and performing ‘Bet On You’ as the encore until they left the stage. Thelong wait is over to meet THE BOYZ again and create another good memory after the global pandemic. We wish a full recovery for Eric and enjoy a great time on stage with THE B next time!

*Eid Al-Adha is one of the most important feasts for Muslims, when they set aside their wealth for ritual and honoring their prophet’s willingness to sacrifice through distributing livestocks to share with the needy.
