Wonderful Breathtaking Performance Through the Night with IU at the 2024 HEREH World Tour Concert in Jakarta

IU, the renown singer-songwriter and actress from South Korea, has finally come back to Indonesia. Her visit this time was the second time she visited after 5 years since the <LOVE, POEM> concert tour in Jakarta in 2019. At this second meeting, UAENA (IU’s fandom name) and IU reunited again through IU HEREH WORLD TOUR CONCERT IN JAKARTA on April 27 and 28, 2024, at ICE BSD, Hall 5-6, Tangerang.

The second day was opened with “Holssi,” which is the main song on her sixth mini album, “The Winning,” which was released this year. She came on stage in a beautiful white dress with a very sparkling tiara on her head. Then she continued with the next song, “Jam Jam,” and made UAENA scream so loudly that she was amazed. IU also cutely succeeded in showing off her language skills when greeting fans who attended her concert. “Halo aku IU! Aku kangen sama kalian semua. Apa kabar? (Hello, I’m IU! I miss you all. How are you?)” she said.

The night was divided into 4 parts; Hypnotic, Energetic, Romantic, Ecstatic, Heroic, and encore. Each part even has a different theme. Some look like music videos; some are lively like a festival; some are so magical like musical theater; all of them are completely brought by IU on stage. From start to finish, all UAENA were active and good at singing without being asked until the idol said that we JAKUAENA (Jakarta UAENA) were like NAGA (dragons) because our voices were so thundering. “I haven’t been to Jakarta for five years. I didn’t expect your voices to be this loud and big. Mantap! (great),” she said.

From the stage setup, lighting, live band, and dancers, her stage act and vocals were beyond everything. It is definitely a concert that you must watch once in your life. It was the combination of an all-out performance and a great audience. We sing along with the set list. IU even said, “I’ve been a singer for 16 years, but I can only experience performances and audiences like this every 7 or 8 years. This is the most extraordinary.”

The most memorable moment on the second day for us was when IU performed the song “YOU&I” on stage in her red dress. It’s very iconic. We all get goosebumps for those high notes and also screaming out of our lungs until the end of the song. “You all are so loud. My ears hurt, and now I can’t hear my own voice,” she said after performing the song.

Before the encore started, we all sang “Someday” together. It reminded us of the 2011 drama “Dream High,” in which IU played the role of a student named Kim Pil Suk and brought a nostalgic atmosphere to the venue. This 3-hour concert finally closed with encore songs requested directly by UAENA: “Knees,” “My Sea,” “Lilac,” “Last Night Story,” and finally “Palette.”

IU sang about 27 songs throughout the night, live with extraordinary vocals, with her accompaniment band mates. It was a fantastic performance that will never be forgotten. We would like to thank CK Star Entertainment for inviting us and giving us the opportunity to witness how great IU is. Just like IU said, “I will stay healthy and return to Jakarta.
