“My Annoying Brother” to Touch Everyone’s Hearts from December 7 On
After a couple of fantastic male duos, such as Hwang Jung Min and Kang Dong Won in A Violent Prosecutor, Song Kang Ho and Gong Yoo in The Age of Shadows, and the latest box office Train to Busan duo, Gong Yoo and Ma Dong Seok, new movie My Annoying Brother is coming to show heartwarming bromance duo of Jo Jung Suk and Do Kyung Soo (EXO D.O)!
My Annoying Brother is a heartwarming story of two orphan brothers who eventually overcome their struggles by relying on each other. National Judo athlete Doo Young (Do Kyung Soo) damages his optic nerves during a competition and loses his sight permanently. His older brother Doo Sik (Jo Jung Suk) takes advantage of his sudden condition to get paroled from prison. To Doo Young, the comeback of his older brother is an extra stress to deal with.
Although hesitant at first, Doo Young slowly eases up to his older brother, who gradually takes charge and helps him adjust to his disability. Just when the two brothers are starting to get close with each other, Doo Sik hears bad news and tries hard to help his only younger brother to overcome his disabilities and won in an international competition.
Being the first time they work for each other, both Do Kyung Soo and Jo Jung Suk prove to be able to show their incredible chemistry as brothers through their act performances and ad-lib.
Aside from the two actors’ chemistry, the long awaited movie is coming from team behind numerous box offices such as Barefoot Ki Bong, Miracle in Cell No. 7, The Accidental Detectives, Secretly, Greatly, and Familyhood. While directed by Kwon Soo Kyung who lead Barefoot Ki Bong movie in 2004, screenwriter of Miracle in Cell No. 7, Yoo Young Ah, writes the screenplay for this movie after 3 years of characters & story research to create Doo Young and Doo Sik that can make viewers relate.
Production Designer, Kim Jong Woo, worked on Kim Soo Hyun’s film Secretly, Greatly, while Lighting Director, Kim Sung Kwan, worked for box office movies, The Accidental Detectives, The Berlin File, and The Thieves. The movie team is completed by renowned composer Kim Tae Sung who works for the music in the movie and has also worked for movies well-received movies Roaring Currents and The Priests.
