“Miss Granny”, a Touching Family-Comedy Movie Soon Available in Indonesia!

Ever wondered how it feels when you're old, over 70? By then perhaps your life partner isn't around anymore and perhaps you're too old for anything, leave alone living up to your dreams. Worse yet, perhaps some of your family may think of you as a burden. If so, how would you feel? And what would you do if suddenly, in a blink, you turned young once again? On Thursday (6/3) night, Jive Entertainment held a screening of "Miss Granny" (수상한 그녀/Suspicious Woman), a new, fresh 2014 South Korean family-comedy movie. Many attended the screening in Blitz Megaplex Grand Indonesia, leaving only few seats empty in Theater 11 from 19:00-21:30 pm WIB. "Miss Granny" tells a story of Oh Mal-Soon (Na Mon-Hee ), a 74 years-old grand mother who is portrayed as grumpy, controlling, foul-mouthed, and shameless. Although she is very proud of her professor son Ban Hyun-Chul (Sung Dong-Il) and very doting of her grand son Ban Ji-Ha (B1A4's Jinyoung), her habit of criticizing almost everything got her in a bad relationship with her daughter-in-law, Ae-Ja (Hwang Jung-Min).

One day, the oppressed Ae-Ja got admitted to hospital due to stress. Doing as the doctor suggested, Hyun-Chul’s family decided to send Mal-Soon away to a nursing home, in order to provide a ‘better’ environment for Ae-Ja. Knowing this, Mal-Soon was very sad. As she cried while sitting on a bus stop, she discovered a flashy photo studio named ‘Forever Young Photo Studio’. A photo of her favorite actress, Audrey Hepburn was hung on the front of the studio. Looking at the photo, she decided to go in and take a photo of herself to be used later on her funeral day. Little did she know that it was a magical photo studio. When she came out, she turned into how she was 50 years ago, a fresh, pretty 20-years old woman.

Although at first Mal-Soon was freaked out by her new self, she decided to take it as a good opportunity and live a different life as Oh Doo-Ri (Shim Eun-Kyung), a name she picked after her favorite Audrey. That was when the real story finally began. One day, while singing, she encountered her grand son, Ji-Ha, and Han Seung Woo (Lee Jin-Wook), a handsome young PD from a famous broadcasting station who fell in love with Doo-Ri’s voice straight away. The two then began chasing after Doo-Ri, without knowing who she is. Not to forget, there is Mr. Park (Park In Hwan), an old widower who is madly in love with Mal-Soon.

During the 124 minutes, “Miss Granny” never failed to bring the audience into a never-ending cycle of crying-laughing-squealing-crying-and laughing again. The movie which was directed by Hwang Dong-Hyuk and originally distributed by CJ Entertainment doesn’t only make audience laugh over it’s comical scenes, but also makes audience cry as it gives them a good chance think about their family, especially their parents and grand parents in a different way.

“Miss Granny” will be available in Blitz Megaplex Theaters, Indonesia starting from March 12. Mark your calendars and make sure to watch this until. the. very. end. We repeat : until. the. very. end! Prepare to get surprised and have fun :p

Meanwhile, let’s watch the teaser below!  😀
