On 07 February 2014, Kyochon’s first outlet in One Pacific Place mall, Jakarta was closed temporarily. Don’t panic! It was because they were celebrating their Grand Opening; attended by board of directors of Kyochon Chicken Korea and Indonesia as well some shareholders. The Grand Opening ceremony began with speeches from Kyochon Indonesia’s CEO and Kyochon Korea’s Representative, expressing their gratitudes and hope for Kyochon Chicken in Indonesia.
Aside of celebrating their grand opening, Kyochon also announced their plan to open next outlets in Kota Kasablanka and Gandaria City in near future and held a fanmeeting event inviting Kyochon’s brand ambassador, SUper Junior. 140 winners were selected from photo contest at Kyochon’s PopUp Store on Super Junior’s concert day in Ancol, Indonesia – several months before their first operating day in Pacific Place – and lucky draw of tickets for customers who made purchases at Kyochon outlet.
The fanmeeting was held in BlitzMegaplex’ studio in the same mall, all the lucky winners were gathered in the theatre wearing t-shirt uniform and waiting for Super Junior members to come. 2 members come that day, Kangin and Ryeowook, and they started the fanmeeting by greeting their fans and converse with the MC about their experience regarding Kyochon Chicken and Indonesia.
Kangin and Ryeowook then grab a silver marker to sign 3 of Kyochon Chicken’s table, filling each table with signature and supportive messages. The fanmeeting continued with group photo session and fansigning, both Kangin and Ryeowook were very friendly during the event and they always try to engage with the audience. The fansigning took a bit more time since there are quite a few people but during this they are always smiling and friendly towards each winner.
After finish signing for all the fans attending the event, both members of Super Junior sends their gratitude to be able to spend some time with Indonesian fans, even though the time slot was very limited. They made the fans promise to come to their next concert, SuperShow 6, and throughout the fanmeeting they keep asking the audiene to keep loving Kyochon Chicken since they love it as well. Even before they became a brand ambassador for Kyochon, they always ate its delicious chicken wings with its unique variant, as Kangin shared in the QnA session; he personally feels happy looking at Kyochon’s promotional pictures and see himself in it.
