An Emotional Afternoon with CHEN at The Arcadia Tour in Jakarta

South Korean singer Kim Jongdae, widely known by his stage name CHEN, successfully held his first solo concert in Jakarta to an outpouring of excitement and emotion. Titled “CHEN CONCERT TOUR Arcadia in JAKARTA,” the show took place at Balai Sarbini on Saturday, January 31, 2026, marking a long-awaited moment for fans who had eagerly anticipated his return to the Indonesian stage.

From the moment fans arrived at the venue, the atmosphere was charged with anticipation. Indonesian Soondingies from different cities filled the area with banners, lightsticks, and quiet excitement, united by their shared admiration for CHEN.

The concert began in the afternoon, around 3:30 PM, with a soft opening that immediately set the tone. As the lights dimmed and the first notes echoed through the hall, CHEN appeared on stage with a calm yet commanding presence. He opened the stage with ‘No Gravity’ and ‘Fall in Love Again’ drew the audience into the emotional landscape of the concert.

CHEN took moments between songs to greet the audience warmly, visibly touched by the enthusiastic response from Indonesian fans. “Hello Jakarta! Welcome to CHEN’s Solo Concert!” He said. Also, the familiar “ea ea ea” chant from Indonesian fans filled the venue during ‘Fall in Love Again’, prompting smiles and laughter from the stage. Rather than stopping the chant, CHEN encouraged it, embracing the unique energy of the crowd and allowing it to become part of the show.

Over the course of the concert, CHEN performed more than 20 songs, carefully arranged to reflect emotional growth, reflection, and connection. The setlist flowed like a narrative, moving from gentle ballads to more uplifting tracks.

Songs such as My DearDeja VuRemember, and Love You resonated deeply with the audience. Each performance felt deliberate, as though CHEN was guiding fans through different chapters of his personal and musical journey. The live band added warmth and texture, enhancing the emotional impact without overpowering his vocals. CHEN’s vocal control, emotional delivery, and sincere expressions carried the concert forward, proving once again why he is regarded as one of the strongest vocalists in the industry.

One of the most unforgettable moments of the night came when CHEN did the unexpected. In the middle of the concert, he stepped down from the stage and walked into the audience. Holding his microphone, CHEN invited fans to sing along with him during ‘Beautiful Goodbye’. One by one, fans joined in, their voices trembling with emotion but filled with confidence and joy.

As the concert continued, the energy in the venue remained strong. Songs like Broken Party and Arcadia brought a brighter atmosphere, with fans clapping, chanting, and singing at the top of their lungs.

Toward the latter part of the concert, a fan project video was played on screen. The montage traced CHEN’s journey from his debut with EXO, through his solo releases, and finally to the Arcadia tour. The video was filled with messages, memories, and expressions of gratitude from fans. As the video played, emotions rippled through the venue and CHEN himself appeared visibly moved. It was a moment of reflection for everyone who had walked alongside him through different stages of his career. “Thank you for running together with me,” he said at the end.

As the concert drew to a close, he finally sing his last song of the night, ‘Best Luck’ CHEN addressed the audience with heartfelt words. He expressed surprise at the overwhelming energy from Indonesian fans and shared how deeply moved he was by the afternoon. He promised to remember this moment and hinted at hopes of returning again.

“Thank you, Jakarta. Everyone, don’t forget this day. I promise, if I come back, we’ll meet with even happier faces. Thank you for waiting and supporting me all this time. I will always remember this moment,” he said sincerely.

“Who are we? Soondingie!!! And me? Captain!!!”

Through music, shared singing, laughter, and moments of vulnerability, CHEN transformed a concert hall into a space of collective memory. Thank you CHEN and Three Angles Production for the invitation. Until we met again.
