Red Velvet’s Irene & Seulgi Ignite Malaysia After Eight-Year Wait
The long wait is finally over. After a full eight years since their last performance in Malaysia, Red Velvet’s Irene & Seulgi lit up the stage with a spectacular show that was well worth the wait.
The evening began with a warm and personal touch. Irene immediately reminded the ecstatic crowd of their last visit in 2017, acknowledging the long gap between shows. “It’s been a while,” she said with a smile, a sentiment the fans fully understood. Seulgi added to the excitement with a cheerful “Apa Khabar” (Hello, how are you?), expressing how much she had missed their Malaysian fans.
Amidst the high energy performances, the duo shared a fun, intimate moment with the audience. Fans, well aware of Irene’s love for durian, playfully encouraged her to try the famously potent Malaysian varieties. She happily engaged in the conversation, discussing which type tastes the best, turning the banter into a lighthearted and memorable highlight of the night.
On stage, Irene and Seulgi were nothing short of a powerhouse. They delivered their hit songs with flawless choreography and incredible vocals, captivating the audience from start to finish. The duo’s synergy was palpable, proving why they are one of K-pop’s most iconic sub-units.
The concert culminated in an exhilarating encore that brought the house down. Irene & Seulgi returned to the stage to perform three of Red Velvet’s biggest hits: “Zimzalabim,” “Red Flavor,” and “Power Up.” The final moments were a pure celebration, with both the duo and their fans jumping and singing along, creating an unforgettable atmosphere of pure joy.

It was more than just a concert; it was a reunion. Irene & Seulgi didn’t just perform for their fans; they reconnected with them, showing that even after eight years, the bond remains as strong as ever.
