[Press Release] iKONCERT 2016 ‘SHOWTIME TOUR’ IN ASIA’

Jakarta, 29th April 2016 – iKON have been a hot discussion among the Kpop fans for the past one year due to their rising popularity following their debut. iKON composed of seven members namely B.I, JINHWAN, BOBBY, YUNHYEONG, JU-NE, DONGHYUK, and CHANWOO.

iKON quickly emerged as the hottest rookie of the year in 2015 and have been named as one of the “Top 5 K-Pop Artists to Watch in 2015” by Billboard. With their unstoppable momentum, they are widely regarded as the “Monster Rookie”. The multi-talented members demonstrated their talents and potential in survival programs “WIN” and “MIX & MATCH”. They have gained immediate attention by fans both locally in Korea and internationally while finally making the long anticipated grand debut on Sep 15, 2015!

Their full album [Welcome Back] were well received by the market where all the great hits including “Dumb & Dumber”, “What’s Wrong?” and “I Miss You So Bad” had all set an impressive record by topping all music chart at once! Their official YouTube channel has already recorded a massive 710,000 subscribers with the 7 MVs accumulating over 86 million views since their debut! After receiving warm response from the fans, they finally started their first Asia Tour titled ‘SHOWTIME TOUR’.

The tour kicked off in Seoul, South Korea in late January 2016, at the Olympic Gymnastics Arena in Olympic Park, one of the largest indoor concert halls in Korea, and became the first ever rookie group to hold a large scale concert at the prestige venue with all the 13,000 tickets of the concert swiftly sold out! Within just 4 months, iKON held their second solo concert, “iKONCERT 2016 [SHOWTIME] TOUR IN SEOUL” which also toured to Daegu and Busan. Over 40,000 tickets of the four shows of the tour were sold out in mere 10 minutes.

Besides Korea, iKON’s popularity has also crossed the border in Japan. They then expanded their tour in Japan, which had 14 shows in total in 5 cities including Fukuoka, Tokyo, Hyogo, Chiba and Osaka and attracted over 146,000 fans.

Following the tour in Korea, iKON kicked off their first “iKONCERT 2016 [SHOWTIME] TOUR IN TAIPEI” on April 22 at Taipei Arena and had a very successful show with high quality of performance.

The ‘SHOWTIME TOUR’ will also visit Jakarta, Indonesia taking place at ICE BSD City Hall 5 on 3rd of September 2016 at 6.30PM as officially announced today. Their loyal fans as called iKONIC have been longing for this tour to stop by Jakarta, Indonesia and their wishes are now granted.
