[KUEXCLUSIVE] Exclusive Interview with VIXX

Q: How do you evaluate VIXX as a group as a 3-year-old group? How would you compare VIXX 3 years ago and today?
A: 3년차에 접어든 현재는 3년 전보다는 많이 성숙해진 거 같습니다. 외모 뿐만 아니라 생각과 마음이 좀 더 어른스러워진 것 같아요.
VIXX, being a 3-year-old group, is a lot more mature than VIXX 3 years go. Not only our appearances, but our mind also got more mature.

Q: What is VIXX ultimate target at present? (Give hints: Being number one in music shows, have a world tour, self produce the next album, etc)

A: 저희는 이전에도 몇 차례 말했었는데 이 시대의 빅스만의 트렌드를 만들고 싶어요. 가령 빅스가 한 렌즈라던가, 빅스가한음악 등 음악, 패션, 생각 등을 많은 분들이 공감해주고 함께해주시면 좋겠다고 생각하고 목표로 하고 있어요.

We mentioned about this a few times before, but we want to make a trend of VIXX itself. For example, contact lenses that VIXX wore, music that VIXX does, fashion, and even VIXX’s thoughts; we hope that people can relate to all of these.

Q: VIXX is known for the strong concept (Give hints: cyborg or voodoo doll), what kind of concept do you want to try next?

A: 어떤 컨셉이든지 저희 빅스만의 색깔을 담아 보여드릴 생각이라 한 가지 특정한 컨셉을 꼽기보다는 최대한 다양한 모습을 많이 보여드리고 싶어요. 많이 기대해주세요!

 As we want to show only VIXX’s own colored conception, for now we do not keep only one genre but also various genres as trials.

Q: Are there any plans for solo/unit debut or collaboration with other artists?

A: 그 동안 콘서트 무대나 음원을 통해서 보여드린 적도 있고 앞으로도 좋은 기회가 주어진다면 언제든 할 수 있겠죠. 그룹으로 활동하는 것과는 또 다른 매력이 있는 것 같아요.

We have sometimes shown you solo/unit collaboration through our concert or any music so far, so we will continuously try to have any collaboration stage in a good time. 

Q: Do you have any specific area of entertainment you want to challenge soon? Like musical or other entertainment programs?

A: 저희는 음악 외적으로도 다양한 모습을 많이 보여드리고 싶기 때문에 여섯 명 모두 기회만 온다면 다른 분야에도 도전해보고 싶어요. 현재도 개별 활동을 하고 있는 멤버들이 많아지고 있거든요. 엔은 음악프로그램 MC와 DJ를 동시에 하고 있고요, 켄은 뮤지컬에 도전해요. 또한 홍빈도 음악프로그램 MC를 맡고 있구요.

As we always to meet you in various ways so that we want any challenge to do at other spot if opportunities allow. Now N is doing both MC and DJ for a TV music program and Ken is doing a challenge for a musical. Also Hongbin is MC for other TV music show, too. 

Q: What is the goal you have yet to achieve with VIXX and what is your plan in completing it?

A: 앞에서도 말씀 드렸듯이 이 시대의 트렌드가 되고 싶어요. 그러기 위해서는 저희 스스로가 패션, 음악, 퍼포먼스, 작사, 작곡, 언어 등 다양한 분야를 공부해야 한다고 생각해요. 현재도 멤버 모두 차근차근 배우고 있습니다. 그래야 자신감이 나올 수 있는거 같아요.

As per my previous answer, we want to be a trend leader. Therefore we have to study all kind of part like fashion, music, performance, composing & writing, language etc so that now we are busily learning them all. It gives us confidences.

Q: What is each member’s personal favorite music genre?

A: 엔 지금 빅스가 하고 있는 음악도 좋고, 감성적인 발라드 곡들도 좋아요.

레오 모든 장르의 음악을 다 즐겨 듣는 편이에요.

켄 R&B 음악을 좋아해요.

라비 힙합, 랩 음악

홍빈 저는 어쿠스틱한 느낌의 조금은 올드한 분위기의 곡들을 좋아해서요즘에는어쿠스틱 기타를 열심히 연습 중이에요.

혁 저도 따뜻한 분위기의 어쿠스틱한 음악들을 좋아해요.

N: For now, VIXX songs and an emotional ballad songs.

Leo: All genre/any kind of music

Ken: I like R&B

Ravi: Hip Hop, Rap music

Hongbin: Acoustic, a little bit old song and I like the atmosphere. I’m currently practicing the acoustic guitar.

Hyuk:  I also like acoustic song which gives me warm atmosphere.

Q: As an idol with great popularity, you travel a lot; what do you usually do during the travel time? Is there a shared hobby among the members recently?

A: 비행기 안에서는 주로 영화를 보거나 음악을 듣고, 책을 보면서 시간을 보내는 편이에요. 게임도 하구요.

We used to see movies usually or listen to musics, read books or play games.
Q: How do you divide hotel rooms when you travel and stay abroad? (Give hints: Rock paper scissor? 가위바위보?)

A: 해외에 나가는 일이 많아졌는데요, 저희는 항상 같은 멤버끼리 쓰진 않구요, 자유롭게 바꿔서 쓰는 편이에요. 예를 들어 켄이랑 레오가 같이 안쓴지 오래되었으면 같이 쓰기도 하고, 이런 식으로 계속 바꿔서 씁니다.

We rotate members for staying a room freely. For example, because Ken hasn’t shared a room with Leo so long now they share a room. So we split room sharing in this way.
