Seo Kang Joon Admits to Being Nervous to Act in Historical Drama ‘Hwajeong’

Seo Kang Joon became popular since he portrayed Gook Seung Hyun who fell in love with an older woman in MBC’s drama ‘Cunning Single Lady’ last year. The 23-year-old actor has accepted a new challenge by acting in MBC’s historical drama ‘Hwajeong’.

This is his first experience to play in a historical drama, which is a costly big production. So it is not surprising if he feels nervous and honored to be able to act with famous and experienced actors and actresses, such as Cha Seung Won, Lee Yeon Hee, Kim Jae Won, Han Ju Wan, Kim Chang Wan, and Lee Sung Min.

“I feel honoured that I could be a part of this big drama. This is the first time for me to play in a historical drama so it is making me nervous, but I know I can do it. I am happy I can act as a different character and hope I could show my improvement,” he said.

In the drama that is directed by Kim Sang Ho, he acts as Hong Joo Won, a man who is trapped in a sad and wretched love. He suffers between two women that he loves, Princess Jeong Myeong (Lee Yeon Hee), and Gwang Hae (Cha Seung Won) who has the same political view with him.

The drama is scheduled to premiere in April.
