Boys Republic visited Manila from January 9 to 11. They headed back to Korea on the 12th and already, many fans miss them a lot!
They were in town to promote their latest EP “Real Talk,” and most of the ‘Royal Family’ (fandom’s name) supported the boys all the way. The band held mini-shows, meet and greet, and fan signing events in 3 venues and all places were swarmed with fans.
Boys Republic was at the Lucky China Town mall on the afternoon of January 10 then they proceeded to Venice Piazza at 7PM of the same day. The following morning, January 11, they performed at the Sunday variety show, ASAP, and finally, they headed to Eastwood Mall for their last fan signing event.
At the Eastwood Mall Open Park, fans could be seen all over the place. Then loud shrieks and screams filled the park as the 5 members finally went up the stage to begin their performances.
At one point, to the sheer delight of the audience, Boys Republic also showed a surprise event which was very much appreciated by the fans. The group sung a bit of Vice Ganda’s (Filipino artists) popular song “Boom Panes.”
The Royal Family also prepared something for Su Woong who’s celebrating his birthday on January 20. He was given gifts, a cake, and a cute “Happy Birthday” headband. The birthday boy was happy and thank the fans for the advance celebration.
Throughout the show, Boys Republic performed “The Real One,” “Video Game,” “Dress Up,” and their debut single, “Party Rock.”
Moreover, fans were able to get their “Real Talk” CDs signed. It was also a chance to see Sung Jun, Sun Woo, Min Su, Su Woong and One Junn, up close so everyone who lined up was very excited.
It was a great experience for everyone including the members as they did not expect the reception they got from the Filipino fans. They were also amazed that they actually have a lot of followers here even if it was their first time to visit the country.
In any case, for fans who were not able to make it to any of the Boys Republic’s events, they can still buy the “Real Talk” album at Astroplus and Odyssey stores. MCA Music will be giving away prizes for lucky buyers!
Boys Republic debuted in June 2013. They are the first KPOP boy group that was produced by Universal Music and co-managed by Happy Tribe Entertainment.
