Good Neighbors Indonesia’s Children’s Day Celebration “Waktunya Anak Diakui”

Good Neighbors Indonesia (Yayasan Gugah Nurani Indonesia) calls for Indonesians to join them in celebrating National Children’s Day on 23 July 2014 with the theme Hari Spesial Untuk Anak (A Special Day for Children) and tagline “Waktunya Anak Diakui.”

Founded in 1991 in Seoul, South Korea, Good Neighbors International has been working overseas in 30 field countries. Good Neighbors Indonesia was established in 2004 during the Emergency Relief for tsunami victims in Aceh, 2004, and ever since proceed through their goal of “building a global community where people live together in health, harmony, and dignity” by working in 15 field communities in Indonesia.

By gathering sponsorshipand volunteers and holding projects, seminars, and campaigns, Good Neighbors Indonesia now has 11,500 sponsored children in Sumatera, Java, Sulawesi, Lombok and Flores.

Good Neighbors programmes are: Edcuation and Protection, Health Care, Water and Sanitation, Income Generation, Local Partnership & Network, and Advocacy. On 23 July 2014, matching the acknowledgement of Indonesian National Children’s Day, Good Neighbors Indonesia gather 1,000 people to celebrate the special day for children.

The events that will be held are T-Shirt, fan, and candies giveaway for participants who register on the spot, sharing and singing together the National Children’s Day anthem (song). There will be performances by Good Neighbors Indonesia’s sponsored children and a special performance by Indonesian children idols, CJR.
