Living a Legend: G-Dragon Take Over The Stage Through 2025 Übermensch World Tour in Jakarta
K-pop icon G‑Dragon officially kicked off the Jakarta leg of his highly anticipated “Übermensch” World Tour on July 25, delivering a dynamic and emotional performance that captivated thousands of fans at Indonesia Arena. The concert marked G‑Dragon’s return to the Indonesian stage after nearly seven years. By the early afternoon, long lines had already formed outside the venue. From the moment fans began lining up outside the venue, there was electricity in the air. The venue gates opened in a roar of joy. Fans surged in, phones ready, lightsticks glowing, eyes already misty before a single beat had dropped.

At exactly 8:00 PM, the lights dimmed, and the screen lit up with the opening visual of the night: a surreal montage of abstract symbols, fragmented cityscapes, and a spoken monologue echoing themes of identity, transformation, and rebirth. The show opened with an orchestral version of “POWER”, echoing through the stadium like a war anthem for the beautifully broken. When G‑Dragon finally appeared, clad in a blazer full of red roses, the venue erupted into chaos. Then, without warning, the stage exploded in light and motion with the next song “HOME SWEET HOME.”
Throughout the night, G‑Dragon performed a carefully curated setlist blending his classic hits, solo debut tracks, and new material from his 2025 Übermensch album. Songs like “MichiGO,” “One of a Kind,” “Crayon,” and “Crooked” had the crowd jumping, while slower numbers such as “Butterfly,” and “Who You?” brought moments of vulnerability and introspection. Then come “Bullshit” returned in a revamped version, infused with gritty bass and fresh choreography. Meanwhile, the performance of “Heartbreaker” was accompanied by a hologram tribute to WinG, the late digital project associated with GD’s AI collaborations. He wasn’t here to perform hits; he was here to relive them and show how they’ve evolved with him.

At several points during the show, G‑Dragon paused to speak directly to the audience. “Jakarta, mana suaranya! (Jakarta, make some noise!)” he said. He even try to say something like Indonesian slang “Mantul” which means like “Very Good/Awesome” and chit-chat also interact with the fans during the show. Time goes by and this almost 3 hour long concert is coming to an end. But, it’s G-Dragon concert, he came down from the stage and went around downstairs greeting his fans directly during “1 Year” and “IIBELONGIIU.”
Just when it felt like it was all over, the screen flickered, and a soft piano began. The crowd instantly knew, the last song for the night “Untitled, 2014.” With nothing but a mic and the truth in his voice, G-Dragon performed it like a confession. No dancers, just a man and his melody. As fans poured out of the venue—some crying, some glowing, like waking from a dream you never wanted to end. G-Dragon isn’t just a performer. He’s a cultural force and Übermensch isn’t just a tour—it’s a reclamation. Of identity. Of space. Of time. It wasn’t just about the setlist or the lightshow. It was about feeling seen. Feeling known. Feeling part of something bigger than music. Thank you G-Dragon for the greatest show and CK Star Entertainment for the invitation. Till we met again!
