aespa on Richoco Land Press Conference: Sweet Connection with Nabati, TMI Moments, and Future Plans
aespa returned to Indonesia for the “Meet & Greet aespa on Richoco Land” on November 9, 2024, at ICE BSD City, Tangerang. Before meeting MYs (aespa’s fandom), the group greeted the media and raffle winners through a press conference.
Rudy Winarto Urip Wibowo, Deputy Chief Commercial Officer of Nabati, unveiled the reason why they chose aespa as their brand ambassador, noting that the group’s concept and growth align with Nabati’s values. aespa’s futuristic and metaverse concepts appeal to Gen Z and Gen Alpha—Nabati’s target market. Furthermore, the group’s growth, a South Korean idols to gaining global recognition and fame, mirrors Nabati’s journey from a local to an international brand.
This time, the group returned as brand ambassadors for Nabati Richoco. The group leader, Karina, shared their excitement about this role. “First of all, we really enjoy eating Nabati, and even now, they always prepare it for us every time we come here, and it’s so delicious. So we’re also working as ambassadors with great joy, and we’ve had a lot of fun shooting commercials,” she said. Ningning added, “Nabati always makes me so happy, and the chocolate taste is very rich, which I love.” She also shared that she enjoyed Nabati since her trainee days. “This is a bit of TMI, but when I was a trainee, I always liked Nabati. That’s why being a brand ambassador now feels truly amazing to me.”

The group, who recently released their fifth mini album “Whiplash”, also shared the production process. Giselle shared, “When recording for ‘Whiplash’, it turned out to be more difficult than I imagined. Rather than focusing on skill, I thought about how to bring the tone to life because the tone is lower than what I usually sing.” Meanwhile, Winter humorously mentioned that they had the longest nails art for this comeback. Karina shared that she participated in brainstorming for the concept with the staff, while Ningning recalled that she wore sunglasses in all of the teaser images because her eyes were hurting, and she couldn’t wear contact lenses at the time.
Talking about their beloved fans, MYs, Winter shared that the extraordinary energy from Indonesian MYs was a core memory for her. Giselle also praised Indonesian MYs for their energy, saying, “I’m really happy to meet fans in Indonesia again. Also, Indonesian food is so delicious, which makes me even happier,” she said, to which fans excitedly responded with “Nasi Goreng!” Giselle replied with “Yes” and a big smile. Adding to the fans’ joy, Winter also revealed she had eaten Nasi Goreng that morning.
The members also participated in a Bahasa Indonesia challenge using phrases related to their favorite Nabati Richoco products:
Giselle: “Nagih banget” (t/n: So irresistible)
Winter: “Ahh Richoco” (This is the product’s name, and the artist pronounces it cutely)
Karina: “Cobain deh” (t/n: Try it)
Ningning: “Enak loh” (t/n: So tasty)
Regarding their upcoming plans, Karina said, “At the end of this year, we’ll be attending many award events, so fans can look forward to seeing us perform.” She also revealed that the group will embark on a tour across America and Europe starting next year, inviting MYs to anticipate these exciting shows.
