“My Day” Made Sweet Memories at Young K’s Playground “Young K Solo Concert in Jakarta”

October 28, 2023 was the day that My Day (fans of K-Band, Day6) has been waiting to meet and share happiness together. Yup, the wait is over as our multi talented singer-songwriter, rapper, and musician Young K (member of Day6) came back to Indonesia for his solo concert entitled “Young K Solo Concert <Letters with Notes> in Jakarta” held in The Kasablanka Hall, Jakarta on a very warm Saturday night. Promoted by MecimaPro, there are many benefits and exciting activities available such as special photobox “Young K Solo Concert <Letters with Notes> in Jakarta“, Photobooth section on many areas, snacks, and many more.

Coming to the soundcheck session, the intimate atmosphere was complete with the boisterous voice of My Day combined with the mature voice of Young K who was singing the song “babo“. At the end of the soundcheck, Young K said that he was amazed by the boisterous sound of My Day even though this was just a soundcheck. He is increasingly impatient to sing in full at the concert session later. When he saw his fans’ reactions to the song “babo“, Young K said that he had an idea about what he should do when he sang it in full later. Guess it was going to be surprise from him, so shout out to My Day!

Finally, it’s showtime! Band played the intro as lighting gave a focus to the center of stage. There we go, Young K jumped and showed up with his black jacket as he sang “waited” from his latest album “Letters with Notes”. Next song, Young K performed “Best Song” with the same outfit and charisma. “Time of Our Life” triggered a massive reaction from My Day as it is such an anthem from beloved Day6. It was a little bit sad because it was the only song from Day6 that Young K sang, on the other hand he chose a pumped up happy song of Day6 rather than sad heartbroken songs that we knew from Day6, what a sweet choice. We were having “playground” as the next song and we could see how cheerful Young K was with this performance and the venue also became a real playground for both Young K and My day to dance a little and sing continued with “What a Wonderful Word“. Clearly the same as Young K promised in his soundcheck before, “babo” as his next performance became a duet of him with My Day. One of the theatrical performances came with “Maybe Next Time” coloured with Young K’s high notes, continued with “Microphone” and “SOUL“.

It was a unique idea in between the show, Young K sat with one of his guitarists like on a Radio show format that reminded us about how he became a DJ in “Kiss The Radio”. He performed cover songs “Nothing” by Bruno Major, “Reality” by Richard Sanderson“Viva La Vida” by Coldplay, “I’m Yours” by Jason Mraz, and the most unexpected and became the highlight his Jakarta’s show was “Anugerah Terindah Yang Pernah Kumiliki” by Sheila on 7

After “what is..” and “want to love you“, lighting was off and only a bed lamp showed up on stage as “good night dear” played. There were no screams from My Day that made it more beautiful to watch. Like a roller coaster swing up and down, the entire mood was changed to an up beat performance with “Bungee Jumping“, “natural“, and “STRANGE”. Young K changed his outfit as black and white attire, grabbed his bass guitar to play the cool intro and sang “Guard You” followed by “Dreamer” and “nothing but“. Break in between of changed into a third outfit, there was a camera recorded of a sea of My Day also handbanner with meaningful words shown to the screen. Up next, there was also a fan project shown by My Day Indonesia to beloved Young K which made him smile and giggle about the creativity of My Day. Flannel shirt and ripped jeans was his third outfit of that day, with his bass guitar playing “Not gonna love” and ended with a lovely “let it be summer” to perfect his show that night. Even though summer will never happen in Indonesia, we can feel the ‘serotonin’ of the summer, all thanks to Young K!

It was truly a fun and memorable experience, KoreanUpdates thanks to MecimaPro and looking forward to further shows!
