Ahn Hyo Seop Reveals His Secret to Maintain Good Relations with Fellow Actors, His Future Plans, and the Most Memorable Moment of His Asia Fan Meeting Tour

K-drama heartthrob Ahn Hyo Seop visited Indonesia for the first time with ‘2023 AHN HYO SEOP ASIA TOUR <THE PRESENT SHOW> IN JAKARTA’ on September 9, 2023. Before the fan meeting, the actor greets the media through a press conference.

Ahn Hyo Seop opened the press conference session with a greeting in Bahasa Indonesia, “Halo, Indonesia! Saya Ahn Hyo Seop, terima kasih” (Hi, Indonesia! I’m Ahn Hyo Seop, thank you)

Q: How do you feel about holding a fan meeting “The Present Show in Jakarta” for the first time in Indonesia? 

A: First of all, I really want to meet Indonesian fans. While I was working in Korea, I really wanted to hold a fan meeting like this and it finally happened. I’m so happy and looking forward to it!

Q: Please tell us about the title “The Present Show” and what’s the meaning of ‘The Present Show’ for you?

A: “The Present Show” has two meanings. The first one is ‘present’, which means a gift. I want to present a gift for the fans in the form of a fan meeting. The other meaning is present as ‘now’, that now we can enjoy this moment together.

Q: If you have one day to hang out with Indonesian fans, where would you wanna go and please tell us the reason!

A: In my opinion, the place is not important, what’s important is the time that we spend together. Like the time that I spent with the media today~

Q: As an actor, you have acted in various roles, which character that you think is the most similar to you personally?

A: I really love all the roles I have played, there is also a bit of my own character in those roles. But, if I had to choose one, I’d like to choose Seo Woo Jin’s character in “Dr. Romantic” series. The reason is, that there was a time when I couldn’t think positively, and that was the moment when I got the role of Seo Woo Jin. When Seo Woo Jin worked at Doldam Hospital, I felt like I grew up along with his character and could always think positively.

Q: What was the memorable moment for you during the preparation of the fan meeting?

A: There were many moments during the preparations, but if I may talk about the tour, every moment during the first performance was the most memorable. It was a surprising moment for me to be able to meet the fans face to face in various countries

Q: You have acted in various dramas and met other actors. What is your secret to maintaining good relations with fellow actors?

A: Actually, I am a bit shy and need time to get close to people. However, the reason why I can be close to other actors is because of one thing, it is understanding each other. So the key is to work together harmoniously with other actors.

Q: The latest drama “A Time Called You” is currently airing, please tell us about the drama, your character, and what are your hopes for the audience who watch this drama?

A: The genre of this drama is romantic-mystery and the plot is a time slip. Even though there is a love story in it, the drama is not only about love but also has a mysterious story. This drama has a charm so it is quite complicated. It may sound difficult, but I’m sure after you watch it, you won’t be able to stop until the end.

I play two characters, they are Nam Si Heon and Koo Yeon Jun. Nam Si Heon’s character is a high school boy who has the nature of only love (loyalty) as he looks into one person only.

Because the plot is a time slip, like I said before, depending on the age of the character I play, the difference is between the changes in emotions or feelings that are visible through the eyes. If you look into my eyes, it will be very interesting.

Q: What are your future plans?

A: Throughout my career, I rarely had time to meet fans in person. So currently, for the short plans in the future, I want to have lots of time to spend for my fans.

A: During this tour, I realized that there is love without national boundaries. I will repay you with more love than I received, I am sincerely grateful (for the support), I hope we can meet often, and I want to say that I love you from the deepest of my heart.
