(PRESS CONFERENCE) Tilly Birds Live in Jakarta

The alternative band from Thailand, Tilly Birds finally came to Indonesia for the first time at the “Tilly Birds Live in Jakarta” which was held on Saturday, 14 July 2023 at M Bloc Live House Jakarta. Before meeting with all the fans, the band of 3 members namely Third, Billy and Milo greeted the media through a press conference. Here’s the complete summary.

How did Tilly Birds feel being able to hold a concert in Jakarta and meet Indonesian fans for the first time?

We feel this is an uplifting experience and very special because we can hold a concert today. We saw some familiar faces, you guys often mention us on instagram right? How great, hope you guys enjoy our concert and let’s sing along together.

Mention three reasons why fans should attend Tilly Birds Live in Jakarta!

Billy: I think, the first one is when you see our live performance, it’s very different from you listening only through the audio track, that’s all I’m going to say, I’m not going to give any spoilers now.

Third: I would say, well we don’t know when we will come here again. So, it’s an opportunity for us to fly overseas here and we will keep you standing up and banging with our music.

Milo: Another reason is that we just finished our big concert in Thailand. So many staff in our show were preparing a lot of things for our performance. So you guys have to be prepared too.

Why did Tilly Birds choose Indonesia as a destination country?

Previously we had searched on the internet, how about Indonesia, and it turned out that Indonesia is a country that we really want to visit because the fans in Indonesia are extraordinary.

Is there a place you want to visit while in Indonesia?

Actually, we didn’t have much time to go around. But we had time to taste some Indonesian food and snacks. They are very good. We eat martabak too, and it’s super delicious. 

Are there plans to write a bilingual song or album?

We are actually working on a new album and it will be full english. Stay tuned for that.

Do you know anything or something about Indonesia?

Billy: I have friends in Indonesia. Do you know Eka Gustiwana? We actually met and made a collab together.

Third: I also know an Indonesian actress, her name is Kristin Hakim, we shooting together and I really like her.

Milo: For me, hmm, maybe Billy and Third can introduce me to their acquaintances. Hahaha so we can hang out together.

Do you see any similar thing about Indonesia and Thailand?

The traffic is jammed. It’s the same with Thailand. The people too, every time we walk somewhere I feel like in my own country. The food here is also similar, all delicious.

“Just Being Friendly” is one of the popular songs from Tilly Birds, was there any inspiration behind making this song?

Many of our inspirations come from our own lives and for this song we made it with Milli. She is very talented, she sings, she raps, she dances, she produces. We love being able to compose songs with her. 

What is your next goal in five years?

World tour maybe? Yeah we hope so. If that happens we promise to come back here. Okay we promise. 

Why did Tilly Birds choose the alternative genre for your music?

We know that there are lots of well-known music genres, for example pop, ballad, but we chose this genre because we feel that this is our genre, we feel suitable and happy with the genre that we are presenting today.

Is there any project for Tilly Birds in the future?

As we said before, we are working on a new full English album, but we don’t know the release date yet. So stay tuned for our project!
