IT IS FINALLY ‘D-DAY’ FOR AGUST D TOUR D-DAY IN JAKARTA!

May 26-28 2023 will be the days that Indonesian ARMYs have been waiting for. How could it not be, on the sidelines of the BTS members who are currently having their own solo agenda and some have already carried out their military enlistment, SUGA BTS visited Indonesia for his first Solo Tour titled SUGA Agust D Tour D-DAY in Jakarta. ICE (Indonesia Convention Exhibition) BSD Hall 5-6 became the space when the crowds of fans met the one who fans cherished for, SUGA BTS.

“Min Yoongi, Min Yoongi, Min Yoongi!” overheard in the entire Hall concert became preparation for another energetic voice to sing along and have fun tonight. Thunderstorms backsound with red and blue stage lighting have greeted fans since the first time fans entered the concert arena. Finally, the intro video (VCR) showed SUGA BTS in a flash glimpse of the journey from Min Yoongi, SUGA BTS, and Agust D (the trio identity that SUGA BTS has). The focus directed to the stage where SUGA BTS appeared after lying on the stage as previously shown in the video with the backdancers performed ‘Haegeum’ followed with ‘Daechwita’, ‘Agust D’, and ‘give it to me’ heated the atmosphere since the very beginning. 

In the meantime, SUGA BTS greeted the fans in Indonesian, “Halo, senang bertemu dengan kalian!” He added in English, “I am SUGA, Agust D, or Yoongi.” He said how amazing his tour in Jakarta was from yesterday (26th May 2023) and it was even amazing tonight (27th May 2023). 

Next performance, the flow changed into a warmer mood and much nostalgia because SUGA BTS gave the audience his guitar skills to sing ‘Seesaw’ in an acoustic version with all the lighting focused on him added how aesthetically pleasing for the audience to dive in the vibe. ‘SDL’, ‘People’ + ‘People Pt. 2’ got more engage with fans and as we can see in the venue lots of fans shed in tears.

SUGA BTS actively engaged with fans with lots of chit chat to make sure everyone was in a well condition and enjoyed the show as much as he was really enjoyed this Jakarta Tour since 6 years of the BTS members including him held a concert in Jakarta back then in 2017 (WINGS Era Tour). SUGA BTS definitely knew how to get the crowds felt his explosive energy, ‘Interlude: Shadow’, ‘Cypher 3 + Cypher 4’ Medley, ‘UGH’, ‘Ddaeng’, and ‘Huh?!’ completed the non-stop energy shared between him and the audience. 

Next segment got more excitement as VCR played with a whole video which clearly well produced like a short documenter movie with a hint of mystery and action. The VCR titled ‘LIVE IN MEMORY’ began with a glimpse of Min Yoongi (origin of SUGA BTS) before his debut with BTS, continued to his figure as BTS along with cut off scene from HYYH until Love Yourself storyline, into the next phase of Agust D. Agust D Tour D-DAY focuses in the stories of SUGA BTS before and after debut with multiple crossroads throughout his career as musician (BTS member and solo performance) and all of his journey was well wrapped up in this entire 3 hours show.

The most precious one was this show not only portrayed SUGA BTS’s own narrative as an artist by revealing his identity, but also gave us a never-before-seen live performance experience from theatrical plot of opening, VCR docu-series of him, pumped-up performance with head bang rap song, and also him played two instruments (acoustic guitar and piano) sang along with fans.

“I am surely come back again here. Let’s have a trust to each other. I will going to come back here, I promise!” SUGA added as the pure promises that he will surely come back again in Jakarta. Fans are all hope for the best as fans will be patiently waiting to have another concert of BTS full member. 

This entire show was truly meaningful and left the great memories after several years of fans patiently waiting their favorite to breath the same air and share impactful energy for recharging the battery of life, and it was proven tonight.
