"A concert for those who have waited for a long time." No words seemed to fit more than them to describe what happened last night. Yes, last night (June 22nd), after the whole years of waiting, finally it paid off for Indonesian Shawols. "SHINee World Concert III in Jakarta" happened in Mata Elang International Stadium, brought by Synergism Entertainment.
As soon as the lights went dim, even before the artists could be seen, the pearl aqua ocean was formed throughout the stadium, all screaming and waving for one name they have been wanting to see so much. When all four of them appeared, it was even hard to distinguish which one was the louder, the blazing sound from the speakers or all the screams by Shawols.
The four boys, sadly minus their leader Onew who were still recovering, kicked off the concert with “Spoiler”, showcasing impactful dance movements, accompanied with nice lightnings effects that made the performance felt grand. Minho, Key, Jonghyun, Taemin, all were wearing a black-golden suits. And as they continued to use the clothes during “Juliette”, I must say that it ripped the ‘cute’ image SHINee used to always have in my mind. Those who were standing in front of everyone’s eyes were the adult but no less amazing ‘boys’.
Throughout the show, the boys tried to (and are successful) in delivering performances which showcased their vastly different charms. Starting from the powerful, stadium banging “Lucifer” to the sweet, enchanting sad ballads like “Can’t Leave/Sleepless Night”. Also, although they no longer sport the bright, young image they once had, they didn’t fail to show their cute and quirky side through performances such as “321” Korean version. Not to mention, they managed to revert back to their powerful, trendy image with “Everybody” and got the audiences all mellow and touched with “Green Rain” and “Stand By Me” by the end of the concert.
In general, the concert was awesome and SHINee was also awesome too. All performances, even though there were parts which felt empty without Onew’s prescence, were delivered thoroughly. It was a pleasant, satisfying concert even for those who haven’t really been into SHINee lately. They arranged the songs nicely, they succeeded in building the hype among the audiences. Although at times the lightnings were too bright for my eyes, in general it was superb too, especially the laser effects. But what matters the most is how the audience and the artist managed to interact warmly. The amount of fanservices given, also the amount of the project Indonesian Shawols carried out for SHINee left a heartwarming impression, adding much plus point to the value of this concert. I know it’s not only me, as it was very loud when VCR containing Onew holding card messages in Indonesian was on air and I also bet no one forgot Key’s “Kak Onew, Kak Onew?” last night.
Through all the ground shaking cheers and smiling faces SHINee and Shawols had, I believe last night is a good memory for those who attended. Not to mention how special it must be, as last night was actually the last stop of the whole SWC III tour. Thank you SHINee and congratulations Shawols! Let’s hope Onew and SHINee would manage to fulfill their promise to come again, okay? 🙂
