[Artist of the Month] A Pink: Une Annee

On May 9, 2012, A Pink released their 1st studio album entitled Une Annee. The studio album contained nine different songs from the talented girls. In an interview with the group, they shared that through the album, they wanted to show a different charm compared to their first mini albums in order to appeal to other fans as well.

The first single in their album was released before their official album was released. The single April 19th was digitally released on April 19, 2012 as a special gift for the fan sin celebrating their one year anniversary. The lyrics of the single was actually written by the leader of the group, Park Choring.

After releasing their digital single, they released various teasers for their title track ‘Hush Hush’ and on May 9, along with the release of their album, they also revealed their title track music video. The song brings a flirty image concept to show the audience a more mature side of the group.

The group followed up their promotions with the release of their 3rd single. On July 6, 2012, “Bubibu” was released digitally as a result of an online poll conducted by the group. The online poll was conducted through Mnet’s website where in the fans were asked to choose between ‘Cat’ and ‘Bubibu’ as their follow-up track. The version they released was a remix version of the one on the album.

Their Une Annee album peaked at number 4 in the Gaon Music chart while their title track ‘Hush Hush’ peaked at #11. Their follow-up single ‘Bubibu’ peaked at #20.
