[KU LIVE REPORT] 121006-121007 Korean Food Festival 2012 (Part 1)

Finally, this year’s Korean-Indonesian Friendship Festival was held for the 2nd time in Indonesia. this time, after doing a kick off event in Pelita Harapan University, the festival was held in Mall Taman Anggrek’s Main Atrium starting from Oct 3rd – Oct 7th. fortunately, our representative can cover the event held in 6th and 7th .

Firstly, I was very glad that I was given the honor to cover for this event. And as KU Representative, I would like to share the hype of the event. so, here we go.

The event starts at 1 PM, with the food festival where the people can taste the real taste of several korean traditional snacks such as ttokpokki, chambungosamanco ice cream, and many more. They demonstrated how to make ttok mae chi gi, just like what they did at the opening ceremony last week. they event ask the audience to help them hitting the ttok to make it more solid. they helped the audience to follow their steps to make the ttok more solid. after that, they distributed the ttok after they finish saluting the pieces with crushed nut powder.

the show went on with a performance from Indonesia’s representative from Yogyakarta, presenting a performance of contemporary dance. the crowd was entertained and got hyped after they saw the dancers dancing the themed dance. this performance lasted for 10 minutes.

the next performers are from EDX2 Dance company from Korea. they performed the same contemporary dance. the difference was all of the members were dressed in black while the previous performers were dressed in skin toned robes and golden dresses. the crowd cheered as all the members of the dance group performed their stunts.

the next performance are performed by Lost For One crew from Korea. all the crowd got hyped as they pull out break dance stunts.

the next one to perform is the Taekwondo athletes from World Taekwondo Federation. They performed some stunts involving height and also their self-improved “Gangnam Style” Dance.

lastly, closing my report for Oct 6th, is the performance of “Tanah Merah” Korean-Indonesian children choir performing some numbers of children songs in front of the stage. too bad i couldn’t cover all the performance that day due to the time limit I have.
