Earlier this year Pledis Entertainment announced plans of debuting a seventeen member boy group which was tentatively named Seventeen.
Although the debut of the group was initially planned at the end of this year, the agency pushed back the plans for the group to debut next year. Due to the large number of the group, a lot of attention has been gained but Pledis Ent. is making sure that everything is well prepared before revealing any other information. On August 16, a representative shared, “We haven’t confirmed all of the members of Seventeen yet. We’re still working to find a balance. The group will have 17 members in total, and about 50% of them have been cast.” He also said, “We were planning on debuting them within this year, but plans have been delayed to next year.”
Pledis Entertainment previously revealed that the group will be made up of 17 members with an average age of 17. The group will be targeting the Korean, Japanese, and Chinese markets.
