Recently, one of Kim Hyun Joong’s fan clubs,  the Kim Hyun Joong Powerful S·My Club, donated cash to the Beautiful Foundation, a charity that takes care of senior citizens who have no families and living alone. The fan club gave a total of 10 Million won.

Upon his return to Korea on August 2nd, after a successful Asian tour, Kim Hyun Joong learned about the good deed of his precious fans. Extremely touched by the gesture, the actor/singer quickly made his move and contributed 50 Million won more. This acts of kindness  made the foundation feel very grateful.

The director of the Beautiful Foundation, Kim Mi Kyung, commented that although there are lots of fan clubs who participate in various charitable works, it is rare for a celebrity to act in response to his or her fan club’s kind act. The executive added that this just shows that fandoms in Korea have become more mature.

This is not the first time that Kim Hyun Joong and his fans donated big amounts of money to a charity. In fact, the Hallyu star is a known contributor to several foundations for women and children around Asia.

The Kim Hyun Joong Powerful S·My Club is also supporting the Kim Hyun Joong’s Scholarship Fund since 2010 and they have already contributed about 0.13 billion won in the span of 2 years.
