Korean movie “The Thieves” beat Hollywood blockbuster “Batman : The Dark Night Rises” and took over the box office on its first released day.

According to the Films Commission, “The Thieves” gathered a number of 435,891 audiences and took over first place on the 25th. The accumulated number is 451,740.

“The Thieves” is about Korean The Thieves Macao Park, Pepsi, Popeye, Anycall , Zampano,  Chewed Gum , Andrew and Chinese thieves Chen, Julie and Jonnie  stealing a diamond hidden in a casino.

“Batman : The Dark Knight Rises” was released on the 19th and had been creating such a ‘Batman syndrome’, breaking various records but then The Thieves have stopped the Batman Syndrome. Popular for its amazing cast, “The Thieves” dominated the movie which broke through 3 million people in 6 days and led the scene.

On the same day, “Batman : The Dark Knight Rises” stopped at second place with 192,430.

A tough competition between “The Dark Knight Rises” and “The Thieves” is about to go on this coming weekend.
