Singer Eru has come to Jakarta for 9 days to do some promotional activities and Thanks to Falcon Music also Mizan Publishers, Koreanupdates get the chance to have an exclusive interview with the singer that become famous with his single “Black Glasses” back in year 2006.

Since Eru’s activities in Jakarta is specifically to promote his new movie titled “Hello Goodbye” and his new mini album “Feel Brand New”, the interview was focusing on his debut activities as an actor. Let’s check out our interview session with this 28 years old Singer who speak English fluently since he was born and raised in New York (USA).

As a starter, I asked him about his feeling about Jakarta, the fans and the foods..

Q: This is your first time to Jakarta , how did you find Jakarta so far?
A: I think it’s really great. It’s been really great…all the fans..they give me a big support.

Q: Many fans come and see you up at the airport?
A: Yea..at that time I feel really great. I feel hopeless at first because this is my first time to Indonesia but I’m so thankful to Indonesian Fans who ahd came to see me at the airport. Uhm..i like the weather and the the food..

Q: What food have you tried so far..?
A: Everything..Sate, Nasi Goreng, Gado-Gado..i like it all.

Q: How did you find the taste..? Is it similar to Korean food?
A: Uhm…It’s spicy flavour is kinda similar but it’s more like sweeter here..

After all the chit-chat about Jakarta, fans, and the foods, we get into deep about his debut as an actor through (I may say) an Indonesia-Korea movie directed by Titien Wattimena, then written into a book with the same title “Hello Goodbye” by Ayuwidya.

Q: You’re here to promote you debut movie “Hello Goodbye”, mind to tell us a bit about the character that you played here?
A: I played as a street singer in the movie…
(before he continue to tell about the character he played, he tell us that he’s playing a cameo in the movie, then he continue) He (the character) just like help Atiqah’s character. Not that much but giving her the advice.
(Atiqah’s character is a workaholic who works in Indonesia Embassy in Korea who always live her life accordingly to every plans she had make for a long term period that makes her into a stiff person and not enjoying what she have right now)

A: Yea..

Q: Did you find any difficulties while filming this movie since all the actors, actresses and crews are all Indonesian..?
A: first I was worried about the Indonesian staffs but when i got there, some of them were speak in Korean I was really surprised and Atiqah can speak English..we don’t really ahve problems with that. Second of all, I didn’t really into about acting because I’m a singer so I ask Atiqah and she’s like..talk the details..so you just take the scene right away. Not much *NG..So, yea..we don’t really have any problem in communicate..

Q: The filming location for this movie is in Busan and Jakarta. Did you also went back and forth Busan-Jakarta for the filming..?
A: Actually my scenes were all in Busan..i don’t have any scene in Jakarta. But the Music Video filming for the OST was taking place in Jakarta, I filmed it together with Atiqah.

Q: Talking about the OST, “Black Glasses”, it’s actually your hit song from year 2006. How did the song finally get chosen as the OST..?
A: Actually when I first get the scenario from my Korean movie business partner, when I first read it, it’s just touched my heart. The storyline came in fit into the lyrics of “Black Glasses”, so..it happened just like that.

Then the interview went into his acting experience, was once read that Eru was once offered to starred in a Japanese movie during his debut year but he decided to refuse the offer because he need to set his existency first in Korea before any other countries..

Q: I read once that you were offered to starred in a Japanese movie during your debut but then you decided to refused because you want to set your existency first in Korea..can you tell us a bit about that..?
A: Uhm..that’s not true at all. It’s not that we got offered but we’re looking forward. Not even a Japanese movie nor every countries’ movie, so we’re just looking forward and then that time, he (the manager) brought me the scenario. so I read it and I like that more..i like this more.

(T/N: here Eru’s trying to explain about the statement that he refusing an offer. So, he’s not actually refused but he’s looking forward to any other movies that moves him to act in it).

Q: So..that was not true at all..?
A: Not true…yea..not true at all…

Q: After your debut as an actor in this movie, are you going to set a new track in acting or keep your track as a singer?
A: Actually I have a dream to be an actor too but right now mostly I have to concentrate more in my music business and after that if..some times..uhm..my heart has set, I’d like to try out for the acting. But right now I’m practicing acting, in Korea too, so if someone give me a chance right now, some other days, I might try it out.

As the conversation about acting flowing out smoothly, we move the set of the topic into Hallyu wave. We talked to Eru about the Hallyu Wave in Indonesia has been a mainstream this year, a lot of Kpop Groups and Singers were and are coming in to Jakarta for a concert. Will he have one some day..?

Q: Now in Indonesia, Jakarta in specific, has been the center of Hallyu Wave. Kpop has become a mainstream with so many Kpop idols held concerts here. Do you have any plan to held one any soon..?
A: Yea…maybe soon. I think..i might have to. Actually I’m a part of it (hallyu wave) right now. I would like to help kpop wave not only in Indonesia, Europe too..and whole of Asia. I don’t want to start this for my success..i just wanna start this for our Kpop..Kpop success. That’s what I’m thinking of right now.
