After a couple of days of rumors, finally Joo Ji Hoon’s agency Keyeast Entertainment released statement on Wednesday , June 13, that the 30-year-old actor will return to TV series in the upcoming SBS weekend drama tentatively titled Five Fingers.
Although Joo Ji Hoon already filmed a movie (I Am The King) after finished his mandatory army duty in the end of 2011, still , the news of his comeback to small screen is a surprise to many after his infamous alleged drug abuse in 2009. And also because he’s still in the ban list for KBS and MBC.
Along with casting news, Keyeast was also carefully releasing statement regarding the scandal ,“Joo Ji Hoon is reflecting on the disappointment he’s given so many people deep in his heart. He’s still apologetic about what he did and deliberated a lot about coming back onto the screen in front of the public, but he’s put a lot of trust in the director and writer, both of whom persuaded him to take the casting offer. He decided to confirm it after seeing the many charms his character has.”
They continued, “He’ll apologize by returning to his roots and showing even better acting. He’s determined to not disappoint the people that have given him another opportunity and will do his best to greet you all with a more mature image.”
Five Fingers story is about young people with tragic past and misfortunes but find their dreams and love. Joo Ji Hoon will play a genius pianist who comes from troubled family.
This drama is scheduled to have first aired August 4 replacing A Gentleman’s Dignity. Five Fingers will come in a whopping 50 episodes.
